PTSA Activities

Below is a list of activities run or supported by the CVMS PTSA:

8th Grade Promotion

Academic Enrichment: Help teachers where needed with Geography Bee and Spelling Bee.

Adaptive PE: Assist PE teacher in helping physically and mentally challenged students take part in PE.

Mini Grants: Provide funding for classroom, department, and school needs not funded by the district.

Career Fair: Organize members of the school community to present information on their career and industry to students.

Directory: Work with administrators to produce a listing of students and families who wish to be in the directory.

Dads’ Club: Our Dads’ Club has been on sabbatical; if you’d like to help revive it and help Dads get engaged at CVMS, please contact Patel Rosen at teardrop-75@msn.com.

Giving PAWS: Provide much-needed supplies for classrooms. This supply drive takes place in January or February each year

Hospitality: Organize Beginning of School/End of School Breakfast for teachers and staff, and dinner on Back to School Night

Media Center: Help check out and reshelve books; assist students

Parent Information Nights: Bring in speakers and local experts to discuss topics of interest to CVMS parents

Red Ribbon Week: Work with administrators on planning a week of activities to promote healthy choices and discourage drug use.

Reflections: The Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students conducted by the National PTA. Reflections provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a specific theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education. This year’s theme is “Within Reach.”

Students may submit original works of art in any of the six areas listed below:

  • Literature
  • Musical composition
  • Photography
  • Visual arts
  • Dance Choreography
  • Film/Video Production

Spirit Week: Work with administration and ASB to plan a week of fun activities for students to build school spirit.

Staff Appreciation: Plan a week of activities to show our gratitude to teachers and staff.

Talent Show: Provide an opportunity for students to perform and share their talents with the school community
