PTSA Spotlight

Reflections Art Program

All CVMS students are invited to participate in the National PTA’s Reflections Art Program. The theme for 2025-2026 is “I Belong.” Students are required to submit an artist’s statement explaining how their art work demonstrates this year’s theme. All submissions will be due in early October so please encourage your child to start working on their project over the summer. For more information, examples and the submission form click here.

A Note from the PTSA

Dear Carmel Valley Middle School Families,

As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support, involvement, and generosity throughout this year.
Serving as your PTSA Presidents has been an honor and a privilege. Together, we have strengthened our school community, supported our teachers and staff, and enhanced the educational experience for all of our students. None of this would have been possible without committed parents like you!

Whether you volunteered at events, donated to charity drives, participated in fundraisers, or simply showed up for your student(s) when it mattered most, your contributions made a real difference. Your partnership helped us achieve meaningful goals, from funding classroom improvements to organizing memorable school and parent activities that brought our community closer together.

Thank you for being such an essential part of our school’s success and a special thank you to Principal Adam Bishop and Roberta Blank for their contributions, patience, guidance, and collaboration. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished this year, and we look forward to seeing what CVMS can do together with the PTSA in the future.

Wishing you and your families a restful and joyful summer!

With gratitude,
Keri Bougie and Alexa LeMoine
PTSA Co-Presidents
Carmel Valley Middle School

New Bell Schedule for 2025-2026

Beginning next fall, CVMS will be instituting late start schedules on almost every Monday. This will allow for a more consistent schedule for CVMS families and increased teacher collaboration time. Click here to see or download the new bell schedule.

New CVMS Assistant Principal

The SDUHSD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of our new Assistant Principal for the 25-26 school year, Ms. Jennifer McPherson.  Jen McPherson has a strong passion for education. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boston College and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Point Loma Nazarene University. She has taught English and History from 6-8 grade and was the Director of School Culture at Nativity Prep Academy before making her way to the San Dieguito Union High School District. This year, she taught 7th grade English and ASB at Oak Crest, and she has loved being a part of this district. She enjoys building relationships with all constituents and loves building a culture of belonging and positivity. She is excited to be at Carmel Valley because of the enthusiastic student body and the passionate staff and families. When not at school, Jen enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband and black lab puppy, Koda.

Bobcat Fridays

EVERY Friday is Bobcat Friday! Students who wear their Bobcat spirit wear on Fridays will be eligible to win prizes, attend special events, and earn special privileges. If you are interested in skipping the lines to purchase spirit wear at our on campus events, you can order online through our CVMS Webstore and pick up your merchandise at Orientation and/or Mosey Monday!

Keep Our Schools Safe

SDUHSD has worked with local law enforcement to identify the best tool to report incidents that may impact our school environment.  The San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center operates a Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) system for our county.  You can help to keep our schools safe by reporting directly to the SAR school threat site.  Although it does ask for identifiable information, you may submit your tip anonymously and the tip will still get routed to your local law enforcement.
