A Special Message from the PTSA President
Dear CVMS Families,
As the school year comes to a close, I am reflecting on what an incredible journey this has been. Serving as your PTSA President has been an honor, and as I step down from this role, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you and goodbye. This year has been full of so many memorable moments, events that brought our community together, supported our students and teachers, and created lots of small but meaningful moments along the way. From New Parent Orientation, Mosey Monday, and First Day Jitters, helping our incoming 7th graders feel welcome, to Back-to-School Night, where we got a glimpse into our kids’ daily school life, each event helped strengthen our community.
Thank you for supporting our fundraiser and for your generosity during the Holiday Gift Drive. It’s amazing what we can do when we come together. Because of you, so many kids experienced a truly special holiday season. And thank you to our students for their thoughtful letters to the troops. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide teachers with funds for classroom supplies and even cover the expense of tuning the school piano. None of this would have been possible without you.
I’m so grateful to everyone who volunteered time, showed up to events, or helped behind the scenes. You are what makes this school community so special. It’s been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated PTSA members, parent volunteers, teachers, and staff. I’ve learned so much and will carry these memories with me.
While I’m stepping away from this role, I’m happy to share that Alexa LeMoine—who has served for the past two years as Co-President and Vice President—will be our next PTSA President. I know she and her team will do a fantastic job and continue all the great work.
Thank you again for your trust and support. Wishing you and your families a wonderful summer!
With gratitude,
Johanna Bonner

Eight Grade Promotion Volunteers Needed
Eighth grade promotion is coming up on May 29, and we need seventh grade parent helpers to make it a success!
Volunteers from seventh grade families are requested to help distribute water, organize picture taking, and clean up after promotion. Help us make this event special for the 8th graders and their families, and get a preview of what awaits you next year. If you have time to contribute, please click here to sign up.
8th Grade Promotion – May 29
Congratulations to all our 8th graders and their families for all their hard work in making it to this milestone event! We look forward to celebrating our 8th-grade Bobcats on Friday! Click here for detailed information about 8th grade promotion.
The 8th Grade Promotion begins at 10:30 am in the quad. Since classes will be in session, please do not arrive prior to 9:05am.
Because classes are in session, we ask that any families/guests attending the ceremony arrive no earlier than 9:05 AM to avoid disruption to the school day.
For those who plan to park at the school, the side gate will be opened at 9:05 AM and will be closed no later than 10:10 AM, to allow students to safely navigate campus. Note: the lot may be closed early if it is full.
As in past years, guests should plan to bring low folding chairs or blankets; No umbrellas or helium balloons are allowed as they will block the view of other guests.
Students should dress appropriately for a formal event and should be mindful of the CVMS Dress Code. Students should also wear shoes that will allow them to confidently walk up and down the stage steps.
The ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM and should end by 11:15 AM. 8th graders will be released to their parents after the ceremony ends and dismissed from school at that time.
After the ceremony, families are welcome to take pictures on the stage or in front of the CVMS backdrops available in the quad. Families and 8th-grade students are expected to leave campus no later than 11:45 AM to allow staff to prepare for 7th-grade dismissal.
Chromebook Return – May 27 – May 28
All students must return their Chromebooks. 8th grade students will return Chromebooks on Wednesday 5/27, and 7th graders on Thursday 5/28 through English classes. Get ready now! Locate your Chromebook, charger and stylus and remove stickers and clean off any marks.
CVMS Yearbooks
- Yearbooks will be distributed on Tuesday, May 26 after school for 8th graders and 7th graders will receive their books during period four on Wednesday. If we have any extra copies, they will become available in the front office Tuesday after school.
Bobcat Fridays
EVERY Friday is Bobcat Friday! Students who wear their Bobcat spirit wear on Fridays will be eligible to win prizes, attend special events, and earn special privileges. If you are interested in skipping the lines to purchase spirit wear at our on campus events, you can order online through our CVMS Webstore and pick up your merchandise at Orientation and/or Mosey Monday!
Keep Our Schools Safe
SDUHSD has worked with local law enforcement to identify the best tool to report incidents that may impact our school environment. The San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center operates a Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) system for our county. You can help to keep our schools safe by reporting directly to the SAR school threat site. Although it does ask for identifiable information, you may submit your tip anonymously and the tip will still get routed to your local law enforcement.
